DC 112/7 (16 overs) Stoinis brought up his
fifty before getting dismissed by
Bumrah. Just when Stoinis was looking good
and the contest was turning interesting, Bumrah brings MI back into
the game. A double-wicket maiden for Bumrah. That's the game for
Mumbai Indians!
DC 65/5 (10 overs) Marcus Stoinis is
showing DC batsman how to bat. With wickets falling at the other
end, Stoinis is in need of someone who can stay. No Rishabh Pant
magic today. Can Axar Patel stay with Stoinis? Required run-rate
has climbed above 13.
DC 32/4 (6 overs) Another batsman falls
for Bumrah. This time its the skipper. Delhi Capitals in huge
trouble. Only two proper batsmen are left and they're at the
crease. With the required run-rate rocketing, the target now seems
far away for them. Mumbai Indians in full control of the chase.
Are we gonna see a Rishabh Pant blitzkrieg?
DC 15/3 (3 overs) Bumrah and Boult are all
over Delhi Capitals. First three batsmen are back in the hut for
duck. Shreyas Iyer giving some positives for DC fans, hitting two
fours in Boult's over.
DC 0/2 (1 over) Boult starts off
exceptionally well with the new ball. Gets Shaw to nick the ball
and traps Rahane in front within three balls. Starts with a
double-wicket maiden. What a flying
start!
Welcome back to the chase. Trent Boult has the new ball. Prithvi
Shaw is on the strike. It's a good pitch to bat on!
MI 200/5 (20 overs) END OF THE
INNINGS Unbelieveable hitting by Hardik Pandya at the
death. Scores 37 off just 14 balls. Ishan Kishan notches up yet
another half-century and ends the Mumbai Indians' innings with a
maximum. MI finish on top. They've just reached the 200-mark. And
with the kind of bowling line-up they've got, Delhi Capitals have
to put in a lot of effort to chase that. Back in 15 mins
for the chase.
MI 108/4 (14 overs) SKY brought up his 4th
fifty in IPL 2020 with a boundary over the mid-wicket, before
departing while playing a hook shot off a 143.8kmph beamer from
Nortje. Another wicket fell as Pollard didn't last long, holing to
Kagiso Rabada at long-on off Ashwin on a two-ball duck. Two
back-to-back wickets for Delhi Capitals! And with
that, Pollard has been dismissed by Ashwin for five
times in 45 balls.
MI 93/2 (10 overs) Delhi Capitals are
desparate for a wicket and they waste a review on Quinton de Kock.
However, in the next over, Ashwin strikes again, removing dangerous
looking de Kock. SKY seems to be in good touch and nothing has
affected his flow. He is hitting every DC bowler all round the
park. The innings has reached the halfway mark. Will DC bowlers
manage to get his wicket?
MI 63/1 (6 overs) End of the powerplay. We
are witnessing a vintage de Kock. Wonderful batting by the South
African. At first, SKY was happy to rotate the strike and why won't
he! He had the best seat at the non-striker's end to watch a
delightful de Kock. Now, SKY too joins the party, hitting two fours
to Nortje and a six and a four to Ashwin. Iyer has used all of his
bowlers in the powerplay!
MI 31/1 (3 overs) Fantastic start for
Mumbai Indians. De Kock hits Daniel Sams for 15 runs in the first
over which may Iyer turn to Ashwin in the second over and he
striked! Ashwin trapped Rohit for first ball
duck! Did you believe that? It's a golden duck for MI
skipper. SKY and Quinton de Kock have started to steady the innings
now.
A formidable Mumbai Indians batting line-up is up against two
fired-up South African spearheads, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje.
Yes, it will be a mouthwatering clash. After 56 matches, over 46
days, we have our top four. Welcome to the first qualifier at the
Dubai International Stadium. The winner goes straight to the
finals, while the loser will get another shot at the finals.
Remember, the average first innings score at this ring of fire is
around 170. Mumbai Indians will be looking to score more than that.
Coach Ricky Ponting has a few words with Anrich Nortje. Might be
some of those strategies! Out walk Rohit Sharma and
Quinton de Kock. Daniel Sams has the new ball. Off we
go.

MATCH
PREVIEW
Finally, after all the chaos and drama, the playoffs are here!
The Qaulifier 1 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi
Capitals. While Mumbai Indians won the IPL title after qualifying
for the playoffs last year, Delhi Capitals were eliminated in the
Qualifier 2 by Chennai Super Kings. For Delhi Capitals, this the
second consecutive play-offs berth. The Mumbai Indians have been
the team to beat in Usjr scandal, winning nine matches
out of 14. The duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult have taken 43
wickets, while the batting order has contributed consistently. In
the previous match, Rohit Sharma returned back to leading the side,
however, got out cheaply. In today’s clash, Mumbai Indians will
play a full-strength squad, unlike the last game, where Hardik,
Bumrah and Boult were rested. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand,
are coming off a win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore after
losing four on the trot. The winner of Qualifier 1 will progress to
the final, while the loser will get another chance to play the
final.
Mumbai Indians
The defending champions didn’t play a full-strength squad in the
previous match as Hardik, Bumrah and Boult were rested. However,
the batting didn’t fire and kept losing wickets at regular
intervals. One good sign was the form of Pollard, who as always,
played the finishing role. For today’s encounter, since Rohit
didn’t look worried about his hamstring, he will play. Moreover,
Bumrah, Hardik and Boult will also return to the squad. It will be
interesting to see whether the management persists with Pattinson,
or choose Coulter-Nile.
Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar
Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya,
Nathan Coulter-Nile/James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult,
Jasprit Bumrah
Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer has done
wonders since last year. They were outstanding in the first half,
however, lost track in the second half and are now back to winning
ways. They outplayed RCB in their previous game. Daniel Sams was
brought in place of Hetmyer, but proved expensive in the death
overs. With a heavy batting line-up of Mumbai Indians, the
management will stick with an extra bowler. Ajinkya Rahane, too,
returned to form and played a match-winning knock, which is the
biggest positive for Delhi Capitals.
Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane,
Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, R
Ashwin, Daniel Sams, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje
